Fostering Hope, the foster care community at Vintage 242 Church, is excited to simulcast the live two day Empowered to Connect Conference on April 13th & 14th. We are thrilled to be able to offer this simulcast at NO COST to you! (Limited childcare is available for a fee.)
The Empowered to Connect Conference features two days of practical teaching in a safe and supportive community as we work to equip families, churches, and professionals to better serve children impacted by adoption and foster care, as well as children from difficult places.
Featuring Trust-Based Relational Intervention® methods developed by Dr. Karyn Purvis and Dr. David Cross from the Karyn Purvis Institute of Child Development, this conference helps bring attachment and connection in families. The content is ideal for adoptive and foster parents, those considering adoption or foster care, and those who are serving and supporting others, including social workers, agency professionals, church staff and ministry leaders, counselors and therapists, childcare providers, and extended family members.
The conference runs from Friday morning through Saturday afternoon, April 13 & 14th from 10am to 6pm each day.
Check-in opens at 9:30 am, and attendees will check in with their last name. Coffee, water, and light refreshments will be provided during the morning and afternoon breaks. There will be a one-and-a-half hour break scheduled for an off-site lunch each day.
CHILDCARE IS NOW FULL. If you previously registered for childcare, your child's/children's spot is secure at $20 per day per family. Children will be released to their parents for the lunch break each day.
CONTINUING EDUCATION: This program has previously been approved by the National Association of Social Workers and the National Board for Certified Counselors for 11 continuing education contact hours. Approval for the 2018 event is pending.
Most private foster care agencies will offer CE credit for this training as well. Please be sure to sign in and out for documentation purposes.
